Production Log

Monday 13th September	We were briefed about what we had to achieve and were told deadlines and what was expected of us over the next 3 months.
Wednesday 15th September	Watched short films in class and took notes on the common themes running through them and took note of the conventions that made them successful.
Friday 17th September	Came up with individual idea for a short film – and develop our ideas. Keeping in mind conventions that appeared successful and others where key conventions were challenged.
Monday 20th September	Started researching into our ancillary tasks (film posters) and began to answer the questions in detail.
Wednesday 22nd September	Carried on with analysing film posters in great detail – picking out common conventions and things we liked.
Friday 24th September	Started researching into a variety of different magazine reviews, and took not of the conventions used and how successful we believed these were.
Monday 27th September	Carried on with magazine review analysis. And developed more on our initial idea.
Wednesday 29th September	Researched into short films where we discussed; lighting, sound, camera angles, mis en scene and the representation and narrative.
Friday 1st October	Carried on with the analysis of our short films and started looking into the target audience we wished to target with our film.
Monday 4th October	Devolved our target audience further by discussing their interests in music, television and other hobbies.
Wednesday 6th October	Finished analysing magazine reviews, and film posters and reflected on what we had found out and discussed how we would include this into ours.
Friday 8th October	Finished short film analysis and reflected on what we had found.
Monday 11th October	Made a brainstorm on our target audience and their interests and created a short film with post it notes to portray their interests in an IT friendly way.
Wednesday 13th October	We looked at marketing techniques to help advertise our product and also created a questionnaire and asked people in our class to fill it out.
Friday 15th October	Developed on our target audience research and created a ‘find your tribe’. To help us stereotype our audience. And then discussed the social economic groupings, and how this would affect our audience.
Monday 18th October	Developed our idea and created a concept and synopsis, to help us understand what we wanted to achieve from the film.
Wednesday 20th October	Produced a gannt chart – as we found we were becoming behind with work. And believed this would help us. Completed our synopsis and concept.
Friday 22nd October	Developed our characters more and started to discuss the stages of the film and how we would represent our characters.
Monday 25th October	Started to draft the script and storyboard.
Wednesday 27th October	Completed our script using word and handed them to our potential actors/actresses.
Friday 29th October	Held auditions for finding our actors, and started to develop the storyboard as we became more inspired by our idea
Monday 1st November	Organised costumes and took photos of these and explained our reasoning for using these particular costumes
Wednesday 3rd November	Made an acting schedule, and started to organise dates. And completed our location Reece’s.
Friday 5th November	Sound and lighting research. Discussed soundtrack ideas and the reasons for these.
Monday 8th November	First day of filming- didn’t have appropriate actors, so included one of us in the making of the film
Wednesday 10th November	Second day of filming. And taking photos of appropriate shops/cars to represent each otf our characters.
Friday 12th November	Started editing – but had problem with software
Monday 15th November	Carried on editing at home whilst the other group member starting drafting film poster and magazine review ideas
Wednesday 17th November	Carried on editing - whilst the other group member starting drafting film poster and magazine review ideas
Friday 19th November	Got audience and teacher feedback, carried on with ancillary tasks and started to develop them
Monday 22nd November	Re filmed our first sequence with a different actor and began to re edit
Wednesday 24th November	Re edited film – and completed magazine review, and started final draft of film poster
Friday 26th November	Completed film, and gained more audience feedback, and completed film poster.
Monday 29th November	Wrote and recorded our evaluation using podcast.
Wednesday 1st December	Checked over any missing work and uploaded it all to our blogs
Friday 3rd December	DEADLINE FOR COURSEWORK
Monday 6th December	Corrected our film poster/magazine review. And made drafts of them and how we had changed them. Started a written up evaluation and improved our short film analysis.
Wednesday 8th December	Carried on with evaluation and wrote up production log.
Friday 10th December	Deadline for corrections  - Completed evaluation and uploaded any missing work.
